Con el aporte de nuevos socios, la empresa Telmet inauguró una nueva unidad de negocio dedicada a la elaboración de baterías de litio, llamada Enerlitio.

Estas baterías se caracterizan por acumular una mayor carga por unidad de peso y volumen. Además, tienen menor peso que las baterías de plomo, ya que están diseñadas en placas rectangulares y un tanto delgadas. Se utilizan en vehículos, colectivos, maquinas viales, motocicletas, etc.

La primera en Sudamérica
Telmet es la única empresa en Sudamérica en producir lo que muchos consideran que será la energía del futuro y es la primera vez que en la provincia se elaboran estas baterías.

La intención no solo es abastecer el mercado interno, sino exportar hacia distintos países de la región.

Además, la compañía salteña se dedica a la producción de arrancadores para avión.

En diálogo con El Tribuno, Pablo Galoni, uno de los propietarios, explicó que estuvieron alrededor de dos años para poder lanzar el producto.

Actualmente producen 10 mil amperes trimestrales y esperan llegar a producir esta cantidad, pero mensualmente en el corto plazo.

Enerlitio importa el litio desde Canadá y China, ya que el que se extrae en Salta requiere de un proceso que acá todavía no se realiza, razón por la que recurren al mercado externo.

Inauguración
Ayer, la familia Galoni, propietaria de la compañía Telmet y accionistas de Enerlitio, inauguró en su planta ubicada en el Parque Industrial de la ciudad las máquinas que producirán las baterías de litio. Varios ejemplares fueron exhibidos en automóviles, en los que se podía observar la diferencia de tamaño respecto a los productos de plomo.

Armando Galoni, fundador de la empresa familiar Telmet, expresó la importancia que representa para la industria salteña esta gama de productos. Entre los presentes, se encontraba el presidente del Instituto Nacional de Tecnología Industrial (INTI), Guillermo Salvatierra.
La empresa emplea a 16 personas en total.
