El ministro de Producción, Ángel Mercado, se reunió con los diputados de las comisiones de Agricultura y Ganadería, Industria y Minería y destacó incorporaciones laborales de catamarqueños, en el primer semestre del año, en la actividad minera y sus prestadores directos.

"Alumbrera incorporó 102 empleados de origen catamarqueño en este período; Minera del Altiplano ya sumó 90 sobre un plan de 150 para este año; y una empresa perforadora que está trabajando en el proyecto Agua Rica contrató a 31 trabajadores más", confirmó el ministro en diálogo con la prensa, según datos de la Secretaría de Minería.

Mercado asistió al encuentro acompañado por el secretario de Minería, Rodolfo Micone; el subsecretario de Agricultura, Eduardo Toledo, y el director de Industria, Bernardo Yazbek, entre otros funcionarios.

El ministro confirmó la incorporación de dos empresas mineras en Belén y Santa María. "Hay empresarios catamarqueños que han invertido 800 mil dólares en equipos viales sin promoción de ningún tipo para ofrecer sus servicios a las empresas mineras. Eso suma trabajo y desarrollo", consideró.
Con relación al encuentro con los legisladores, señaló: "Hemos hablado de producción, de qué producimos, dónde lo hacemos, qué y cómo vendemos. Debemos tomar la iniciativa porque no podemos pasarnos la vida dependiendo de decisiones que se toman fuera de la provincia".

Sobre el final, el ministro mencionó como alternativa viable a la "agroindustria, que genera empleo genuino".
